This is beyond frustrating.With the recent changes on Microsoft servers, the IMAP protocol for Outlook/Hotmail/Live/MSN/etc. Anyone have any insight as to what's going on with the email changes. Also some of the ATT help link about email resulted in 404, page not found. Obviously, the chaos caused by ATT was fertile ground for the hackers to exploit. Is Email going to Trash part of the hack? ATT did a terrible job by trying to be transparent and you can't talk to anybody except to reset passwords. Am I now using ATT email or Yahoo email? Chat told me the login change was due to Yahoo being bought by Verizon. After asking probing questions did the answers unfold. Got information from CHAT about logging into ATT.com.

All you can do is call tech support for an email password reset. There was no announcement by ATT about these changes. You now have to log in with AAT.com and access the email page with ATT.net. I don't know whether i am using Yahoo email or ATT email? The email page still has the ATT logo at the top left next to Yahoo email. Now my incoming email is going to the Trash and you can click on what you want to restore to the inbox.
Then they send an email asking whether you have done this or not with a return email address. Kindly let me know if you can help me handle this. Maybe they can create filters (rules) if the spam contains some consistent string(s) to match on, maybe not. If you don't change your address all you can do is give a "heads up" to your contacts. Short of changing your email address I see no definitive solution to this. The list will possibly be included with other lists to be sold to other spammers/phishers. Once a contacts list is "out in the wild" there's no getting it back. If the hacker made a copy of the list to send out further phishing emails you may want to warn your contacts (assuming you get the list back) to possibly expect further spam/phishing emails in the future. Make sure no addresses are defined who's email you don't want blocked. Look for suspicious filters and subtle filter names like '.' (a dot).

When you are done click the Save button to update that account's settings. Scroll down further to see the forwarding setting and make sure it is blank or what you want. Scroll down the panel to see the name and Reply-to address and see if they are suspicious. Click that and choose an account to bring up that account's settings panel. The ones that need checking are Accounts, Filters, and Blocked Addresses. In the webmail settings panel you will see a number of commands on the left.
